WINTER TERM ORIENTATION 2019

Message from the Master

Welcome to McLaughlin College!   You are part of McLaughlin College because you are majoring in one of our affiliated academic programs – Criminology, Global Political Studies, Interdisciplinary Social Science, Law and Society, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology or Work and Labour Studies. York is one of only three universities in Canada organized on a college basis, where every undergraduate student is a member of a college.  Your college is a social, recreational and intellectual community of students, faculty and staff on a personal scale, where you can be known as an individual not a number.  We hope you have a wonderful first year at McLaughlin College, York University.

I hope to see you at Winter Term Orientation, FRIDAY, JANUARY 4TH.  You will meet the Head of McLaughlin College, President of your College Council, and your peer mentor.   You will be introduced to the academic services, programs, recreational activities and facilities available to you at McLaughlin and throughout York to help with your transition to University.

James C. Simeon, Head of McLaughlin College and Professor of Politics
